NOW SEND MONEY IN WHATSAAP WHILE MESSAGING

Whatsapp is now rolling out its payment feature in India. But its available in India in selected devices and its available in beta version as of now.The payment feature is based on UPI and the amount sent through this application will be directly deposited into your bank account.

The only thing your smartphone needs is an updated version of the Whatsapp and under settings option, you should have the payments option available. If not then you would have to wait for sometimes till the option becomes available to you.

HOW TO ADD BANK ACCOUNT FOR PAYMENTS

  • First, go to SETTINGS >PAYMENTS
  • Accept the terms and conditions and tap continue
  • You will be prompted to verify your mobile number via SMS
  • Select your bank and complete the process
The transactions log can also be seen in the payments history. And the payments can be done only if the other user also has the payments option enabled in the Whatsapp. And the other thing is he/she should link his/her bank account and complete the payments setup process.

This is the first time that WhatsApp has jumped into the Digital payments arena which is already dominated by Paytm in India and recently Googles Tez also provides this kind of service which is based on UPI.Almost all banks also nowadays provide payments through UPI Id.These services have made money transfer much easier and faster.

The major problem with this  Whatsaap payments service is that it is a peer to peer transaction i,e transactions take place between two persons and it cannot be used for payment in e-commerce websites like Amazon, Flipkart etc.

On the brighter side of the story since Whatsaap is used extensively in India for messaging so the chances of it being downloaded and used by people are more.
